Land ’N’ Sea passes 50,000 mark
Land ’N’ Sea Distributing Inc., the Pompano Beach, Fla.-based marine parts and
accessories distributor, announced recently that it has surpassed 50,000 in
orders and $12 million in sales through its Internet-based ordering system. The
company accomplished this in one year.
This system, LandNSea.net, is designed to provide the distributors’ customers
with real-time pricing, part availability and ordering for the company’s
entire catalog. It also offers customer-specific pricing, multiple search
functions, multiple shipping options and order history.
“LandNSea.net is an excellent tool for our customers,” William Slansky,
president of Land ’N’ Sea Distributing, said in a statement. “It puts our
warehouses at our customers’ fingertips by giving them [24/7] access to our
entire inventory. It also allows our sales team to focus even more on customer
satisfaction and account management, by putting the ordering capability in the
customers’ hands.”
LandNSea.net was rolled out in April 2000 to a group of pilot users, and
officially launched in June 2000. The company says it has set records every
month since the system’s launch, in dollar volume and orders per month.
Currently about 2,300 of Land ’N’ Sea’s customers are using the Internet
system.
The system was designed, developed and is maintained by Source Network Corp., a
Houston, Texas-based software and technology company specializing in channel
management solutions
