LAND ’N’ SEA AWARDED MERCURY MERCRUISER

ENGINE POWER CENTER DISTRIBUTION

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., March 22, 2004 Land ‘N’ Sea announced today that it will now be part of the Mercury MerCruiser Engine Power Center distribution network for the territories previously serviced by Stewart & Stevenson. As an authorized Engine Power Center, Land ‘N’ Sea will add new MerCruiser engines, sterndrives, transom assemblies and transmissions to its product selection in a designated 30-state territory.  Land ‘N’ Sea joins Boatswain’s Locker, Davison’s Metro Power, and Northeast Marine Power as Mercury’s only authorized Engine Power Centers.  Both Mercury MerCruiser and Land ‘N’ Sea are part of Brunswick Corporation.

“Adding the Engine Power Center product range to Land ’N’ Sea’s extensive offering was a logical step as it is already well positioned to service our customer base within these territories. As our largest Mercury Quick Parts Distributor, Land ‘N’ Sea has proven it has the personnel and physical locations to manage the distribution of the MerCruiser product range,” explained John Ward, retail division president at Mercury Marine.

“We are taking the necessary steps to make this transition as smooth as possible to rapidly enhance the level of service customers have received from Stewart & Stevenson,” said Tom Schuessler, chief operating officer of Land ‘N’ Sea.  “We are strengthening the Land ‘N’ Sea team by adding many of the experienced personnel from Stewart & Stevenson in order to deliver the best customer service and broadest product offering in the territories we serve.”

“Land ‘N’ Sea will now operate the physical facilities at the former Stewart & Stevenson locations in Chesapeake, Va., and Miramar, Fla., to handle the additional inventory volume and unique operational issues associated with engine distribution,” Schuessler added.

“Combining the Engine Power Center products with our extensive Mercury QuickParts range and boating accessory offerings from over 400 vendors further enhances our ability to provide one-stop service for all our customers’ needs,” explained Randy Gray, vice president and general manager of the Brunswick Boat Group Parts and Accessories business, of which Land ‘N’ Sea is an important component.

“The addition of the MerCruiser product range is another step toward our vision of ‘one order, one invoice,’ with same day or next day delivery for all of the dealer’s parts and accessory needs,” Gray added.

Headquartered in Pompano Beach, Fla., Land ‘N’ Sea distributes marine parts and accessories from 13 distribution centers and currently offers same-day or next-day delivery to roughly 65 percent of the marine dealers in North America.
